A single band of aluminum, curved by hand, loops around itself in a loose, open spiral, as if a ribbon of energy has been caught in midair. Small angled tabs underneath tie the curves together and give the spiral its lift.
The glossy orange is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. Against green leaves, stone, or brick, it reads like a flare of light. The spiral rises on a slender rod that slides into an aluminum tube, so the piece is easy to set up, move, or ship.
Equally at home in a garden bed or on a patio, or indoors on a pedestal (not provided). Part of the Energy Spiral Series.
Orange 1 Energy Spiral (2023) · Welded aluminum with automotive paint · 29" h x 14" w x 7" d · $750
