Dreamer is a 15-foot outdoor installation about longing, imagination, and the small bits of magic that catch the light when we look up.
The piece starts on the ground with a repurposed steel table. On it stands a tall welded aluminum tripod, and inside the tripod is a repurposed steel mannequin: a quiet female figure in a long skirt. Lines of crystals run from her waist to the hem of her skirt. At her chest, a red orb made from a thicket of aluminum wire holds a large triangular crystal at its heart.
At the top of the tripod, a triangle and an "X" of long aluminum rods cross each other and reach out 25 feet. From them hang magical orbs of spiraled aluminum wire in red-orange, pink, chartreuse, and white, each with a crystal suspended inside. The orbs hang so they spin freely in the wind, and the crystals glint and flash in the sun. Every crystal in the piece was repurposed from an old chandelier.
The color is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. The video shows Dreamer at Tilly Foster Farm in Brewster, NY.

Orange Drop balances structure and play. At its base, a lattice of aluminum rods zigzags around and through itself, looking at once like engineering and improvisation. From that grounded tangle, four tubes rise and come together in one long curve. The curve climbs, arcs over, and drops to a single hanging point, where a flame-like ribbon of bright orange hangs free.
The flame swings and turns with the wind, so the sculpture is always moving a little. Its orange finish is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. Against grass, sky, and trees, that color carries across a lawn or campus.

A single ribbon of aluminum, curved by hand, coils inward on itself like energy gathering at a center point. The outer face is sunny yellow and the inner curve is deep violet, so the colors change as you walk around the piece and as the light moves through the day.
The spiral sits on an aluminum rod that slides into a central tube. Sweeping curls of brushed aluminum wrap around that tube, echoing the spiral above in a quieter, silvery key. The whole piece rests on a solid 1/4" aluminum diamond plate, which gives it a grounded, slightly industrial footing that contrasts with the color and movement overhead.
The color is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. The piece works just as well on a table or pedestal indoors as it does in a garden bed or on a patio. Part of the Energy Spiral Series.

A single band of aluminum, curved by hand, loops around itself in a loose, open spiral, as if a ribbon of energy has been caught in midair. Small angled tabs underneath tie the curves together and give the spiral its lift.
The glossy orange is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. Against green leaves, stone, or brick, it reads like a flare of light. The spiral rises on a slender rod that slides into an aluminum tube, so the piece is easy to set up, move, or ship.
Equally at home in a garden bed or on a patio, or indoors on a pedestal (not provided). Part of the Energy Spiral Series.

One sweeping stroke of red. A single band of aluminum, curved by hand, starts wide and upright, sweeps up and over in a big open loop, then narrows as it curls into a tight inner spiral. It looks like a brushstroke or a line of handwriting drawn in the air.
The spiral rises on a slender red rod, and the open loops frame whatever is behind it: leaves, stone, sky. The color is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. It's a bold note of red in a garden bed, by a doorway, or indoors on a pedestal.
Red Gesture (Energy Swirl) (2023) · Welded aluminum with automotive paint · 31" h x 18" w x 10" d · $750
A single band of aluminum, curved by hand, loops and turns through itself in a series of open rings, like a ribbon caught mid-twirl. The band is painted a deep aqua, and every edge is outlined in bright orange. That thin orange line traces each curve, so the spiral reads almost like a drawing in space, and it changes as you walk around it.
The spiral sits on an orange rod that slides into a tall aluminum tube. The tube rises from a solid 1/4" aluminum diamond plate, braced by a sweeping curved fin. The welds are left visible, a quiet nod to how the piece was made. The silvery, faintly industrial base sets off the color above it.
The paint is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. The piece works in a garden bed, on a patio, or indoors. Part of the Energy Spiral Series.
Aqua and Orange Energy Spiral (2025) · Welded aluminum with automotive paint · 34" h x 15" w x 15" d · $750
A wide band of aluminum, curved by hand, sweeps around in a great open loop and then curls inward to a smaller spiral at its center, like a whirlpool of energy turning in the air. The spiral is painted a bright blue and sits at the top of the sculpture, framing the sky and leaves behind it.
The base was once a trampoline frame. Its curved tubes have been cut and rejoined so the legs arc up to meet at a single point, like a stretched-out tower. The legs are painted bright magenta and stand on teal crossed feet, so the colors of the base and spiral echo each other. Where the legs meet, the tube ends form a cluster of magenta cups crowned by a small starburst, and the spiral's stem rises from there.
All paint is automotive paint, chosen because it holds up to weather and keeps its color. At five feet tall, Blue Vortex holds its own on a lawn, in a garden, or at the end of a path. Part of the Energy Spiral Series.

Sun is a radiant wall or tree-mounted sculpture in welded aluminum by Hudson Valley artist Jodi Carlson. More than twenty wavy, flame-like rays move out from a layered center, so the piece looks like it's in motion even though it's still. Outdoors it changes with the light: in daylight the aluminum takes on a soft silver sheen against the bark and leaves, and at night uplighting turns it gold and throws long ray-shaped shadows up the trunk. Weather-resistant and made for the garden, Sun brings warmth to a tree, wall, fence, or façade in any season. Or you can bring it inside to brighten up your home.
Welded aluminum · 57" h × 57" w × 6" d · 2010; $5200
Tributaries traces the Hudson River the way a map or a bird might see it: one main channel gathering dozens of smaller streams that branch, join, and feed it on their way to the sea. The river forms are hand-cut from 1/4" aluminum plate and float above a perforated aluminum background on hidden spacers of rectangular aluminum tube. That small gap does a lot of work. Light passes behind the branching channels and casts shifting shadows, so the piece reads differently from morning to evening. The perforated ground gives a soft, textured contrast to the solid, burnished river lines, much like water moving across land.
The piece is about connection: no great river exists alone. It's made of every creek, brook, and run that finds its way into it. Suitable for indoor or covered outdoor display.
