Meet Jodi Carlson

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Jodi Carlson, a multi-medium artist in the Hudson Valley, NY. I’ve been a maker for as long as I can remember. I create sculptures, collages, and photographs that express energy, resilience, and transformation.

AN INVITATION TO BLOOM

I work in 3 mediums that allow me to channel different aspects of my creativity. Each medium reveals a different facet of transformation—from movement and strength, to stillness, to the quiet unfolding of beauty.

ENERGY

My metal sculptures explore the energy of becoming. Heavy materials twist, flow, and dance, reminding us that strength and softness can exist together.

PRESENCE

The Lotus Series is a collection of mixed media collages, inspired by the profound effect the practice of meditation has had on my life. They use silhouettes of the lotus flower, and a person in the lotus position, to express how I feel when I meditate. This series is an invitation for you to experience, if only for a moment, what meditation has given me.

BLOOM

My floral photographs are all images of plants grown in my garden. The world around us is so inspiring! These photographs are about presence, beauty, and the quiet miracle of a flower opening.

COMMISSIONS

My commissioned creatures begin as discarded tools, machinery, and forgotten metal. Giving broken things a new joyful life reminds is that transformation is always possible.

THE MAKER

I engineer and fabricate each sculpture myself.

PUBLIC ART

My public sculptures can be found in parks, municipal campuses, and civic spaces throughout New York and New Jersey.
