Welcome to the art web site of Jodi Carlson. I create abstract and semi-abstract sculptures. Primarily I weld aluminum, and often use recycled metal such as street signs, found objects, and ski resort ads in my art.

I divide my “Art” time between creating large-scale public art and fulfilling commissions. I especially love creating sculptures of all sizes for public and private landscapes. Often people commission me to make creatures for their yards and homes. Examples of these are a goat, and a guardian for the hearth named Annanuki.

What would you attempt
if you knew you could not fail?

You can navigate this site by scrolling through the Inventory section of Art, which is ordered by year. Or you can click onto different groups of art (Arabesques, Reliefs, Creatures, Commissions). Some work in these categories overlap, but the headings are a useful way to understand trends in my art.

I am really captivated by the art of welding metal sculptures, and I love to share this with the public. You can receive regular updates, with photos and comments, about my sculptures as they are being made if you “Like” my Facebook page.
